Member Advisory Councils (MAC)

RMHP believes that Members and their families have important thoughts about how to improve Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid Program) and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+).  For that reason, we have Member Advisory Councils and Program Improvement Advisory Committees in the communities we serve.

One of the goals of the Member Advisory Councils is to facilitate real and meaningful Member engagement.  The Member Advisory Councils have involvement in higher-level program and policy work and act as the eyes and ears for RMHP regarding Member perspectives.

RMHP has four MACs:

  • A Member Advisory Council representing the Western Slope, meeting on a quarterly basis in Grand Junction.
  • A Member Advisory Council representing Pueblo County and the San Luis Valley, which meets on a quarterly basis in Pueblo.
  • The Bridging Communications: Deaf and Hard of Hearing MAC is a specialized Member Advisory Council convened by Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP) to elevate the voices of Members who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or DeafBlind and to directly inform RMHP leadership on improving communication access, health equity, and disability‑competent care.
  • A Member Advisory Council in Spanish meets every month (virtual only).

We are actively looking for individuals interested in helping to improve Medicaid and CHP+. RMHP is committed to ensuring that a diverse group of individuals is welcomed to the table, and that recommendations from the councils are representative of the populations they are intended to serve. In-person attendance at meetings is strongly preferred; however, Members can join remotely via conference line and webinar. Direct travel expenses are reimbursed.

If you are interested in participating, please contact ReNae Anderson by phone at 1-970-393-0170.
