You know you need coverage, but how do you know if you can enroll? Do you qualify for financial assistance? The information below can answer questions you have about when you can enroll in a plan. If you still need help, just contact RMHP.
Can I Enroll in a Health Plan?
Each year, there is an Open Enrollment Period in which individuals can apply for a health insurance plan. The Open Enrollment Period to apply for 2021 has ended.
Some individuals may be able to apply for health insurance outside of this Open Enrollment Period. If you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE), you can apply outside of this timeframe.
How Can I get Financial Assistance?
Federal subsidies are available through Colorado’s marketplace, Connect for Health Colorado, to those who qualify. These subsidies help reduce your monthly health insurance premiums. These subsidies adjust with the market costs, so if premiums rise, more assistance is available to help cover those costs.
You may qualify for a subsidy depending on the size of your household and your household’s estimated income. These subsidies are only available through Connect for Health Colorado, though; if you apply for coverage directly from a private insurance company like RMHP, this financial assistance is not available.
