RMHP Individual & Family plans comply with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This means that our plans meet the criteria set forth by the ACA. Read on to learn more about what this means.
Defining Metal Levels
Each RMHP Individual & Plan plans are assigned to a metal level as part of the compliance with the ACA: Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
- Gold Plans cover approximately 80% of care that you receive.
- Your copayments and deductibles will be lower
- Your monthly premiums will be higher
- Silver plans cover approximately 70% of the cost of the care you receive.
- Deductibles are typically higher than Gold plans with varying premium levels.
- These are the lowest priced plans and generally cover 60% of the cost of care you receive.
- You will see higher copayments and deductibles on these plans.
Understand Types of Plans
RMHP offers Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans, as well as HMO plans with Health Savings Account (HSA) options. At this time, we do not offer Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plans.
About HMO Plans
A regional HMO, or Health Maintenance Organization, plan offers access to a select group of providers. As a Member of a regional HMO plan, it's important to select a primary care provider (PCP) from a network of local healthcare providers who will refer you to in-network specialists or hospitals when necessary. Your PCP will help coordinate your care.
RMHP’s HMO plans are offered and centered around where you and your family seek care – close to home.
RMHP also offers Individual & Family plans that allow Members to open a Health Savings Account, or HSA. HSAs are only available when you are enrolled in a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Individual & Family HSA options allow Members to contribute to a tax-advantaged Health Savings Account to pay for qualified medical expenses. Because HSAs are not subject to federal income taxes, Members can budget for their medical expenses confidently.
The money in your HSA grows tax-free. You are not taxed on the money you take out as long as it's used for qualified medical expenses. Other advantages include:
- reducing your yearly taxable income by contributing money into an Individual & Family HSA;
- 100% tax deferred contributions (up to IRS maximums);
- interest earned on the money in your account is tax free; and
- use of your savings is tax free when used for medical expenses or retirement after age 65.

You Have Options to Enroll
The Open Enrollment Period for 2021 Individual & Family Plans is November 1, 2020 - January 15, 2021. Our plans are available directly through RMHP by contacting our dedicated Individual Sales team, or by getting in touch with your local broker. Plans are also available through Connect for Health Colorado, the state’s health insurance marketplace. You may be eligible for Federal financial assistance if you enroll through Connect for Health Colorado.
