Stay Active at Home With These Online Fitness Classes

Staying active in the winter can be challenging. Many people exercise indoors during the winter to escape the cold weather. This year, folks are hesitant to visit gyms or attend in-person fitness classes due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, it’s possible to get a good workout without ever leaving the comfort of your home.

Don’t sit around and wait for spring. Keep your body moving all winter long with these online fitness classes.

Colorado Mesa University’s Virtual Rec Center

Colorado Mesa University’s Hamilton Recreation Center is typically only open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and family members. However, the campus facility recently launched a Virtual Rec Center that is available to the public.

Visit the Virtual Rec Center to access over a dozen prerecorded yoga and strength training workout videos. In each video, a fitness instructor will guide you through a series of workouts you can easily perform in your living room.

Be sure to also check the Virtual Rec Center’s schedule for live virtual fitness classes, which take place several times per week. Just log into Zoom to participate in these energizing workouts from home.

Crunch Live

Sign up for Crunch Live to access nearly 100 unique fitness classes led by Crunch’s skilled fitness instructors. You can stream a variety of classes, including total body boot camp, dance, pilates, yoga, and barre. All classes are prerecorded, so you can squeeze in a workout whenever your schedule permits.

The best part is that access to these virtual fitness classes is free for current Crunch members. Consider signing up for a free 90-day trial period if you aren’t already a member.

The Colorado AARP is hosting virtual cardio and strength training classes every Thursday at 10 a.m. from January 14th through February 11th. You can register for all five classes in this program for only $10.

Participating in these weekly classes is a great opportunity to get your heart rate up and boost your energy. Each session will be recorded, so you can still participate in the workout even if you are unable to join the live class.

Move With Colour

Move With Colour is an online platform designed for people who love to dance. There are a few sessions that are nearly 45 minutes, but most are only 10 minutes long, which makes it easy to fit a workout into your busy schedule. Plus, all of the videos are available for free on YouTube, so you won’t need to spend a dime to get your heart pumping.

Move With Colour is ideal for people who want to have fun while exercising. Dance like no one is watching to disco, 90s, hip hop, and other types of popular music. The workout is exhausting, but you will still finish each session with a huge smile on your face.
