Bring your favorite outdoor activities indoors

When the family can’t bear to go through the motions of bundling up for another outdoor activity during winter, TV on the couch isn’t the only indoor activity you can enjoy together. To keep everyone active, you just have to get a bit creative.

You could easily pull off the perfect family picnic in the living room, for example. Make some of your favorite picnic-ready snacks, roll out a blanket, and chow down on healthy treats. Hopscotch and hide & seek can also be played indoors. Also, try setting up an indoor scavenger hunt.

Bike in every season

Once the snow starts falling, try switching to a fat tire bike. These bikes have extra-large tires that allow you to float across snow and ice, they’re super fun, and they’re gaining popularity all across Colorado.

Try a new activity, like snowshoeing

If your family loves summer activities, getting them to try something new during winter can be a hard sell. But, snowshoeing is a fun activity that you can do together as a family and help you all stay active.

You don’t need a ton of special equipment, and many gear shops offer snowshoe rentals all winter long. If your family has a handful of hiking trails they love to explore during the warmer months, go and experience the differences when there’s snow on the ground.
