Spring has sprung – don’t let your allergies keep you inside!

Eyes are itchy, throats are scratchy, and for some reason, the tissue box is always empty – spring has arrived and so have the joys of seasonal allergies. Whether your trigger is flowers, grasses, or trees, you know how quickly allergies can change your plans. One moment, you’re planning a hike on one of Colorado’s beautiful mountain trails, the next, you are one with your couch. There are a few things you can try to keep your body’s response to the seasonal change in check:

  • Change your air filters Swapping out your air filters every 1-3 months can significantly reduce the pollen count in your home;
  • Spring cleaning is for the pets too Taking your pets to the groomer or regularly using a damp towel to wipe down your furry friend can cut back the allergens they carry into your home; and
  • Cover your eyes Adding some shades to your wardrobe can block enough allergens to relieve some of the itchy, redness.
Ditch your Kleenex box and trade the couch for the trail, feel better & happy trails!
