The 4th of July is right around the corner and there are tons of events throughout Colorado to put you in a patriotic spirit. Here are some of the state’s best Independence Day events, where you and your entire family can celebrate!

Celebrating the 4th of July in and around Denver

As Colorado’s biggest city, you know that Denver is going to have a lot going on for the 4th. There are a variety of fireworks displays throughout the metro area, along with festivals, concerts, and sporting events.

Start your weekend off early on July 3rd by attending Civic Center Park’s annual Independence Eve Celebration. The event is free and includes an awesome light show and a fantastic finale of fireworks. Bring lawn chairs or blankets, and arrive early even though the event begins at 8 p.m. because space fills up! There are tons of options for the rest of the weekend, too. Independence Day in Boulder

Less than an hour away from Denver, Boulder will be having it’s own fun for the 4th. The annual fireworks display at Folsom Field blasts off just after dark. For daytime celebrations, consider heading over to the Boulder Reservoir for tunes, food, and other activities to make your 2015 holiday one to remember.

Fun 4th of July Activities in Colorado Springs

If you’re near Colorado Springs this major metro area has plenty of events to make your 4th of July weekend a great one. Check out this lengthy list, which has something for everyone, and plan out which events you’d like to attend.

The main show is the city’s 4th of July celebration at Memorial Park, where you’ll be able to see a fantastic fireworks show and an orchestra performance by the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. It’s a free event and there will be food for sale, but bringing along a picnic is another option. The party starts at 5:30 p.m., but arrive early to snag a spot! If you want to escape the crowds a bit, Manitou Springs also has a great fireworks display that begins at 8:30 p.m. on the 4th.

Celebrating the 4th of July in Fort Collins

Fort Collins will also be hosting a variety of entertaining 4th-themed events throughout the city. Start your day off with a leisurely 5k in City Park, catch the annual 4th of July Parade at 10 a.m., and then watch the fireworks display over Sheldon Lake at 9:35 p.m. It’ll be a lively day for the entire family! Have a Happy 4th of July Away From the Cities

If you’d rather escape the big city grind for your holiday weekend, you’ll still find an abundance of events throughout the rest of the state. Aspen fills the entire day of July 4th with patriotic events like parades, picnics, concerts, and a fireworks display over Aspen Mountain. Breckenridge kicks it’s 4th off with a 10k trail run, and the activities continue with the Firecracker 50 bike race, a parade on Main Street, and enough activities to keep the entire family happy throughout the day. Of course, the day ends with fireworks at 9:45 p.m.

Further south, Durango will be hosting an entire day full of 4th of July-themed activities, from fun runs to parades to a fireworks show.
