HSA-Eligible Individual Plans

When you enroll in a SOLO High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), you become eligible to contribute to a tax-advantaged Health Savings Account (HSA).

Health Savings Account (HSA)

An HSA is a tax-exempt trust or custodial account that is set up exclusively for the purpose of paying Qualified Medical Expenses (as defined by the Internal Revenue Code). Contributions to an HSA are only allowed while individuals are enrolled in an HDHP.

  • HSA contributions are tax deductible.
  • Interest earned in an HSA account is tax free.

  • No minimum balance is required
  • Low monthly fee of $2.50 for balances under $2,500. This fee is waived for direct deposit and balances of $2,500.
