Colorado Medicare Plans
Why Choose Rocky Mountain Medicare?
We have been leading the charge to better healthcare and efficiency since our plan’s founding in 1974. Working in collaboration with doctors, hospitals and other care providers we have helped Mesa County to be one of the lowest cost areas for Medicare beneficiaries in the entire country. Years ago we helped establish peer review medical panels so that doctors could collaborate on cases and use evidence based practices to help patients return to health quicker. We have long supported the move to electronic medical records and capturing data then using that data to develop better decision making and better outcomes. As part of the Beacon Community we support the efforts of doctors and their staff to gather information and use that information to better the health of our community and show that collaboration is one of the keys to success in reducing healthcare costs. Rocky has been part of the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative and other programs over the years that are leading to improvements in care, reductions in costs and improving the overall health for our Members.
So if you are looking for Medicare coverage options that are easy and convenient, we are here for you! We know the Medicare trail can be uneven and complicated at times. Our experienced RMHP Medicare Salespeople are here to serve as your trail guides and assist you in navigating the options. 2017 marks our 40th year of helping Colorado Medicare beneficiaries with our Medicare Cost Plans. You can rest assured that we have the experience and background to help you receive the service and care you need and the respect you deserve.
With our Colorado Medicare Cost Plans (Rocky Mountain Medicare) you receive all the benefits of Original Medicare and extras too, like vision exams, a no cost annual routine physical and a new Hearing Aid benefit on certain plans. We have had a contract with Medicare since 1977 and have provided services to thousands of Colorado retirees.
We’re happy that you have chosen to visit our website. Our premiums begin at $10.00 a month and a hospital stay can be as little as $500. We have a history of serving our Members and communities and offer a terrific value. Our Medical Only plans are open for new enrollments all year long. Plans that include Part D prescriptions are subject to the Part D enrollment rules.
When you enroll with us, you will gain access to our statewide network of doctors. We offer over 2,500 Primary Care Physicians and 7,000 specialists to our Members, and with Rocky Mountain Medicare you don’t need a referral to see network providers. The doctors bill us instead of Medicare and we pay the doctor. At the end of the year, we get reimbursed by Medicare, a percentage of the claims that we have paid for our Members. (This is known as a Section 1876 Cost Plan.)
If you choose to go outside of our network for non-emergency care, you can do that too. You would pay the Original Medicare deductibles and coinsurance in that instance. All of our plans include Emergency and Urgent Care services worldwide, with in network copays! No other type of Medicare plan offers this flexibility.
Please roam the website and when you’re ready to join us, relax! We make it simple,
- Our plans are open for enrollment all year long, so no need to wait. You can apply today!
- The plan premiums are not based on your age, but on the plan you choose and the county you live in.
- You will not be asked to sign your Original Medicare benefits over to us.
- A health questionnaire or physical exam is not necessary to enroll.
- You won’t be turned away because of a pre-existing condition.
- If you live in our service area and have Medicare Part A and Part B, or Part B only, we will accept you.
- People with End Stage Renal Disease (kidney failure) may enroll under certain circumstances.

In 2017 we are offering a new benefit for hearing aids. Our Standard and Plus plans will feature a fixed copay for two levels of hearing aids. Advanced technology aids have 14 channels, four programs and six styles to choose from for a flat copay of $599.00. Premium technology aids have 17 channels, four programs and nine styles to choose from at $899.00 per aid. Research provided by Tru Hearing shows that 30% of people aged 65-74 years old suffer from hearing loss and this percentage grows as we continue to age. Due to the normally high costs of hearing aids, about 4 out of 5 go untreated. Staying in the conversation is easy with this new benefit from RMHP, each hearing aid purchase will include the following service and items: Up to three post-purchase visits to fit, adjust, program and educate the Member on the use of the hearing aid. There is a 45-day return period and a three year warranty for repairs. Included in the plan is a three year replacement warranty for loss or irreparable damage (additional fees may apply for manufacturer and reprogramming fees). You also receive 48 batteries per aid at no cost to you. We are setting the new standard in Colorado Medicare benefits and this program really will help improve your health and well being.
We offer the Silver and Fit Exercise and Health Aging Program on several of our plans. The program was developed by SAGE, the Successful Aging Growth Experience Program from Stanford Medical School. Physical activity and regular exercise has been shown to improve balance, coordination, increase skeletal muscle strength, and improve memory and cardiovascular health. We want to give our Members tools to help them maintain their health. Once you have enrolled in the program you will have online access to tools, classes and courses to support you in your health, wellness and lifestyle. Members can join participating health clubs with one, low annual fee. For those that prefer to exercise at home, there are many Home Health kits to choose from.
After exploring our plans, please join us in our effort to make Colorado retirees the healthiest in the nation!
