‘Detox’ is a popular word to throw around in January when discussing resolutions and healthy changes.
Sometimes making huge changes can be very difficult to sustain. Even hearing the word ‘detox’ can bring on visions of juice fasts, cleanses, or never being able to eat what you want again.
It doesn’t have to be scary! Detox can just mean focusing (or refocusing) on fresh foods that are fantastic for your mind and body. There are many distinctly delicious, non-terrifying, easy detox food options for making sure your brain and muscles are getting the nutrition they need. That’s all detox needs to be!
We pulled a recipe for breakfast, lunch, and dinner below. But there are so many more detox recipes if these aren’t quite what you or your family are looking for.
Breakfast Detox Recipe:
Instead of a bowl of sugary cereal, reach for this amazing Blueberry Coconut Baked Oatmeal. It’s easy to make the night before (no more crazed mornings!), and so delicious you won’t believe it’s a detox recipe. No kale in sight.
Lunch Detox Recipe:
A detox diet doesn’t have to mean meatless. For those long days of too much to do and not enough time, try Quinoa Chicken Salad with Cranberries and Almonds. It’s a great way to use up the leftover chicken and will keep you going longer than that drive-thru burger.
Dinner Detox Recipe:
Hankering for some Thai? That can be detox too! As this Thai coconut curry with Tilapia proves, detox doesn’t have to mean boring.
