It’s almost time to shed the sweaters and pants for those tank tops and shorts (or bathing suits!). With summer coming, many of us want to get in shape. We’re here to help; all you need is 30 minutes to workout.
In this post, I’m going to give you a 30 minute full-body workout that will start getting you in shape for summer. You can do this at home or at the gym, but I like doing this at the park when the weather is nice!
Do each exercise for 1 minute. Do not take breaks in-between exercises. After you have finished the set of all seven exercises, take a 2 minute break and start again. Do three run-throughs of them all and you have a full body, summer-preparing workout!
1 &2. Lunges (forward and lateral)
This exercise works your quads, butt and hamstrings. Do forward or walking lunges in addition to lateral lunges to target multiple muscles in your lower body and legs.
This exercise will target your butt and hamstrings. When doing this, create your own resistance by flexing your hamstring, or you can use a tube or weight to hold at your knee for more of a challenge.
4. Push Ups
This works not only your chest and arms, but it also gets your abs. A good classic. Watch your form!
5. Triceps Dip
This mainly works your triceps but also can get to your lats (back muscles). If you want more of a challenge, straighten your legs or use a chair or bench for your hands instead of the floor.
6. Plank Jacks
This works your abs while giving you a little cardio boost. Take it slow at first and then speed it up once you get the hang of it. It’s very important to have the right form on this as not to injure your back.
This is a great exercise that gets your oblique (side abs). It also works other areas of your abs and your arms at the same time! To modify and make this easier, you can come down to your forearms.
