Did you know that heart disease is the Number One killer of women? This is both true and scary, and February is devoted to spreading the news about this scary disease.
Elizabeth Banks has a wake-up call for busy women, juggling career and family, who might ignore the most common heart disease symptoms. Be sure to check out her entertaining and powerful video called “Just a Little Heart Attack”.
February 7th is National Wear Red Day, and we at RMHP encourage everyone to wear red to honor women’s health, demonstrate solidarity and raise awareness about this serious medical epidemic.
Not all heart disease symptoms are the Hollywood symptoms of clutching your chest and falling over. Some heart disease symptoms are subtle, so be sure to speak with your doctor if you notice any shortness of breath, faintness/dizziness, pain in the back, jaw, or chest, or extreme fatigue. Of course, go to the Emergency Room immediately if you have pain or tightness in the chest.
Take care of the women in your life. Spread the word, and stay healthy.
