Rocky Mountain Health Plans CEO Honored by American Diabetes Association

Rocky Mountain Health Plans President and CEO Steve ErkenBrack is one of four Colorado distinguished honorees in Colorado being recognized at the 2012 Father of the Year gala on June 6, 2012, at the Grand Hyatt Denver.

The event’s proceeds support the American Diabetes Association and its mission to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of the nearly 26 million children and adults in the United States who have diabetes.

ErkenBrack is being recognized as a business and community leader who balances highly successful careers with the demands of being an exemplary role model for his children.

In addition to ErkenBrack, the 2012 Father of the Year honorees are: Walt DeHaven, CBS Denver 4; Greg Feasel, Colorado Rockies; and Jeff Jones, Vail Resorts.

  1. All forms of diabetes have been treatable since insulin became available in 1921, and type 2 diabetes may be controlled with medications. Insulin and some oral medications can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugars), which can be dangerous if severe. Both types 1 and 2 are chronic conditions that cannot be cured. Pancreas transplants have been tried with limited success in type 1 DM; gastric bypass surgery has been successful in many with morbid obesity and type 2 DM. Gestational diabetes usually resolves after delivery.^^

    Meanwhile they continue to debit your bank account and deny care.

    Their priorities are paycheck and shareholders. Nothing more.
