2007
- Named a Colorado Top Company by ColoradoBiz magazine, Colorado’s most competitive business award.
- In the 2007 Health Matters Colorado Health Plan & Hospital Quality Report by the Colorado Business Group on Health, Rocky Mountain Health Plans scored significantly higher than other Colorado health plans for helpful customer service, trouble-free access to specialty care, and timely handling of medical claims.
- Rocky Mountain Health Plans is named a Well Workplace by the Wellness Councils of America.
2006
- The Rocky Mountain Health Plans initiative, Improving Diabetes Outcomes in Mesa County, Colorado wins the 2006 AHIP Foundation Innovation and Excellence Award: Chronic Care. The AHIP Foundation is part of America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), the national association of America's health insurers.
2005
- Rocky Mountain Health Plans receives the 2005 Outstanding Corporate Partner award from the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). This acknowledgement is given with great care and consideration to a company that has demonstrated a high level of support to JDRF and its unrelenting mission to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.
2004
- Rocky Mountain Health Plans celebrates 30 years of service.
2002
- Rocky Mountain HMO celebrates its sixth straight year of receiving more high ratings for Member satisfaction than most other participating plans in the Colorado Business Group on Health (CBGH) customer survey.
2001
- The NCQA awards Rocky Mountain HMO Excellent Accreditation status.
1999
- The Company, Rocky Mountain HMO, celebrates 25 years of service.
1998
- Rocky Mountain HMO is awarded Full Accreditation status from NCQA.
1997
- Rocky Mountain HMO is awarded One-Year Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
- The Rocky Mountain Health Plans Foundation is formed, a Colorado 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, to bridge gaps in community access to health care and related services.
1996
- The service area expands to 60 counties in Colorado.
1993
- Rocky Mountain HealthCare Options, Inc. is formed, a not-for-profit health service corporation.
1977
- Cost contracts are arranged with the federal Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA; now Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) to enroll Medicare beneficiaries.
1975
- Federal qualification is received.
1974
- Rocky Mountain HMO receives Colorado State certification to conduct business as a not-for-profit organization and begins operations.
- The Company contracts with the State of Colorado Department of Social Services to enroll Medicaid recipients.
