Documentary Featuring Rocky Mountain Health Plans Airs February 16, 2012 on PBS

Grand Junction, Colo. - A compelling new documentary examining Mesa County, Colorado’s model of health care airs nationally at 9:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) February 16, 2012, on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) network.

The hour-long documentary, titled U.S. Health Care: The Good News, examines four communities, including Mesa County, Colorado, that are finding ways to deliver first-rate medical care at reasonable costs. The focus on Mesa County shows how area health providers and Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP) have been able to work together to provide the community access to quality care at lower costs.

The program features T.R. Reid, longtime foreign correspondent for The Washington Post and reporter for Frontline’s Sick Around the World.  Reid has traveled around America, talking with doctors and hospitals and visiting communities with successful health care delivery models.

The documentary is produced in cooperation with Rocky Mountain PBS. A public premiere will be held in Grand Junction on February 1, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital.
