As a Colorado-based, not-for-profit health plan, Rocky Mountain Health Plans is in a unique position to
understand and care for the people that live in this great state.
Founded in 1974, we offer a wide range of medical benefit options, including PPO, HMO, and Health Savings Account-eligible plans. Medical plans can be fully-insured, fully-insured with cost sharing options, or self-funded.
The organization’s headquarters are in Grand Junction. Regional offices are in Denver, Pueblo, and Durango.
Rocky Mountain and affiliated entities provide services to 161,257 enrollees:
– 3,615 fully-insured employer groups with 55,208 Members
– 144 self-funded employer groups with 50,535 Members
– 13,582 Individuals
– 22,664 Medicare seniors
– 150 Medigap Members
– 15,231 Medicaid eligible persons
– 3,887 children under the Child Health Plan Plus program

We have been rated A+ (Excellent Financial Strength) by TheStreet, Inc. The A+ rating is the highest grade possible from TheStreet and places us in the top 3.8 percent of the industry, an elite group of 23 health insurance companies.
Rocky Mountain Health Plans contributes significantly to Colorado’s economy by circulating more than $479 million in annual revenue throughout the state.
