As a Colorado-based, not-for-profit health plan, Rocky Mountain Health Plans is in a unique position to understand and care for the people that live in this great state.
Founded in 1974, we offer a wide range of medical benefit options, including PPO, HMO, and Health Savings Account-eligible plans. Medical plans can be fully-insured, fully-insured with cost sharing options, or self-funded.
The organization’s headquarters are in Grand Junction. Regional offices are in Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Durango.
Rocky Mountain and affiliated entities provide services to 202,718 enrollees:
– 3,443 fully-insured employer groups with 46,406 Members
– 125 self-funded employer groups with 72,053 Members
– 21,522 Individuals
– 23,968 Medicare seniors
– 390 Medigap Members
– 21,403 Medicaid eligible persons
– 9,001 Medicaid Regional Care Cooperative Members
– 7,975 children under the Child Health Plan Plus program

We have been rated A+ (Excellent Financial Strength) by Weiss Ratings.The A+ rating is the highest grade possible from Weiss and places us on their Recommended List of companies, an elite group of 28 health insurance companies representing the top 4.8 percent of the industry.
