As a Colorado-based, not-for-profit health plan, Rocky Mountain Health Plans is in a unique position to
understand and care for the people that live in this great state.
Founded in 1974, we offer a wide range of medical benefit options, including PPO, HMO, and Health Savings Account-eligible plans. Medical plans can be fully-insured, fully-insured with cost sharing options, or self-funded.
The organization’s headquarters are in Grand Junction. Regional offices are in Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Durango.
Rocky Mountain and affiliated entities provide services to 184,679 enrollees:
– 3,523 fully-insured employer groups with 47,693 Members
– 141 self-funded employer groups with 72,955 Members
– 15,721 Individuals
– 23,052 Medicare seniors
– 230 Medigap Members
– 17,496 Medicaid eligible persons
– 7,532 children under the Child Health Plan Plus program

We have been rated A+ (Excellent Financial Strength) by TheStreet, Inc. The A+ rating is the highest grade possible from TheStreet and places us in the top 3.6 percent of the industry, an elite group of 21 health insurance companies.
